It was an absolutely beautiful autumn Saturday in Yosemite. We thought it was crowded but staff talked about how quiet the park was. We enjoyed the scenery, a walk to the Lower Yosemite Falls – dry this time of year, and watching some deer enjoy their midday rest. We saw a total of six resting deer, two bucks, two doe, and two fawns. Actually the fawns were hidden and we didn’t see much more than their ears. After lunch we drove the Tioga Road and out of the park to the east. The scenery at Tioga Pass is breathtaking. We then headed south to Bishop, California for our night’s lodging.

For our two day visit we opted to concentrate on African wildlife visiting the Aquila Private Game Reserve and the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony for a wonderful chance to these fabulous animals in their own habitat.
