One of the things we realized in the last couple of days was that we had not bothered to pack the awning for the T@B. We had the tent but there are times when the awning is just right. So on our way to Kings Mountain today we took a northerly route and called Greg and Rachel to if they’d locate the awning and meet us at the Jackson Rec Center. That would save us the trip up the mountain with the T@B and would minimize disruption of their house party. They enthusiastically agreed. When we arrived at the appointed place there was a party of four to greet us, to visit, and to tour our little home on wheels. Tess and Phil had come too! We truly enjoyed the sneak visit. What a bonus! From there we stopped at the KOA in Candler NC for the night and treated ourselves to a steak at Sagebrush.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
