Yesterday we dined with friends, Stan & Mary, at Stonebowl Korean Restaurant in Asheville. What a treat! It’s one of the facts of life here in the mountains that you have to travel a bit for dining adventures but the trip was well worth it. The stonebowl dinners were incredibly tasty and a fun cultural experience. None of us were able to eat the whole thing so we toted our leftovers home. Today’s lunch was a yummy soup that utilized some of our leftovers along with beef broth, a little extra beef, onion, and a little more seasoning. Wow! Two great meals and still some leftovers to spare! Thanks, Mary & Stan for suggesting this excursion!
Caligula at Strawberry Hill
The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
