Today we completed our 48th state visit in our T@B since July 2013! Our rule is that at a minimum we must stay overnight and do something fun while in the state. Last night we stayed near Lebanon MO and today we visited the Stonehenge at Rolla, a half-scale replica of the late Neolithic structure in England. This replica was constructed of granite using high pressure water jets on the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology. It was an impressive experience that really gave us a feel for the astronomical aspects of the design of the original.
For our first adventure together on the Emerald Isle, we walked the streets of Cobh, County Cork, explored St Colman’s Cathedral, and visited the Cobh Heritage Center.
Our brief stop in Portland Port in Dorset, England yielded just enough time to get a tiny taste of the historic town of Weymouth, a Cream Tea, and a desire to return.
After a guided bus tour of the City of Belfast we visited the Titanic Belfast Museum located at the Harlan & Wolff shipyard where the great ship was built.
Congratulations on #48! I fully expect that during the miles of driving you two have considered adding #’s 49 and 50?
