The Air Heritage Museum

2018 Northeast, Pennsylvania, Road Trip

The more we learn about family history as well as American History, the more we are fascinated by places like this. The Air Heritage Museum in Beaver Falls PA is an all volunteer organization devoted to the preservation and restoration of historically significant aircraft in a working museum and at airshows around the country. We were treated to a personal hour long tour of all the aircraft inside and outside the museum and even had the opportunity to be inside the two cargo planes. It gave us an insight into some of the WWII and Korean era experiences of some of our family members. Thank you, Dave Matthews for spending time with us, broadening our knowledge, and sharing your enthusiasm!

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
