To celebrate his 90th Birthday our Dad and Alice flew to Dublin and did a wonderful week long trip through the Irish countryside then began hatching plans for a return trip the following year. Then things changed and Dad extracted a promise from his daughters that they would all go in his stead. Today we began the journey when our limousine driver Scott picked us up at Alice’s house. We celebrated with Gruet, a New Mexican champagne on our journey to the Dallas Fort Worth Airport!
Bath, England is an amazingly inviting place with deep deep history. One little day trip isn’t anywhere near enough but we did enjoy delving into the history of the Roman Baths, basking in the beauty of Bath Abbey, and topping our visit off with Tea and Bath Buns!
Today’s excursion to The Victoria & Albert Museum established in 1857 gave us a glimpse into the Victorian world and a chance to see some glorious originals and copies up close.
With Karen’s sister, niece, and her family we visited Stotfold England to walk in the footsteps of ancestors and to explore a lovingly restored historic water mill.
