Our Sisters Trip to Ireland was prompted by you, Dad and your desire to return to the Emerald Isle. We scheduled specifically to include not only your birthday but this day, the 1st anniversary of your wake. This evening we’re in Dungarvan, County Waterford, on the banks of Davitt’s Quay. We satisfied our hunger and slaked our thirst at 360 Cookhouse in the shadow of Dungarvan Castle. We hope you approve of our choice of Gunpowder Irish Gin to accompany our tonic and a twist as we lifted a toast to you. After our walk along the waterfront and across the bridge back to Greenway Cottage we ventured out into the old church yard, and next to the seawall had a memorable experience with sky lanterns. Ultimately we got one to fly long enough to send our love skyward to you and Mother. Thank you, Dad!
Bletchley Park
It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.
