Quick Departure

2018 West, Road Trip, Wyoming

Our overnight at Rawlins, Wyoming was a good stop. Choosing the KOA Journey here meant we could do a propane refill and a load of laundry. The brisk wind over the high plains changed our plans for doing a grill night. During the night the thought presented that this might be a good place for a three night stay. We could do some relaxing, catching up on blog posts, explore the little town, and walk out to a restaurant dinner. So then about 11:30AM we headed to the office to extend our reservation. Surprise! The office is closed 11-3. Plan B then was to make a reservation online. Oops! We could get a reservation but would have to unhook and move within the campground. We’re going with Plan C, moving on toward Rock Springs, Wyoming. We amazed ourselves with how quickly we we able to decamp especially since we never unhitched last night!

National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
