Rock Springs

2018 West, Road Trip, Wyoming

In the morning, a bit of errands. Steve needed a haircut and got a great one from Shauna at Great Clips. We got some treats and other supplies at Albertsons. That triggered a memory or two since Karen worked for them in St Petersburg many years ago. In the afternoon, a bit of adventure. We went in search of the BLM White Mountain Road dispersed camping area off I-80 onto Wild Horse Canyon Road turning into White Mountain Road. We found no evidence of camping activity near the specified GPS coordinates but did see spectacular scenery. And in the evening , a bit of celebration at Coyote Creek Steakhouse where we not only enjoyed a fine meal but learned a bit of history about Butch Cassidy.

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
