Praline Cheesecake

2018 West, Road Trip, Tennessee

It’s the last leg of our 2018 Summer Ramble phase two. We started the day at Buffalo KOA near Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, Site #37 where we drained all our water tanks last night and enjoyed a nice visit with Sharon and Mike. They will continue their journey north to Wisconsin as we head to Tween Creeks. We were on the road this morning by 7AM. When we made our first stop for Coffee and Sausage Grits Bowls we were greeted with a hearty “Good Morning!” when we walked into Waffle House at 9AM. From there we continued east on I-40 through a lot of misty rainy weather and gorgeous autumn foliage. East of Knoxville, Tennessee we were ready for another break so we stopped for lunch at Aubrey’s just off of I-40. We had stopped here in late July at the end of Summer Ramble phase one and had fallen in love with the Praline Cheesecake! So of course we finished off our meal with the same delicious dessert. This could mean we’re established a new tradition! Now to check the TN and NC DOT websites to check the status of that nasty traffic jam we see on our Apple Maps app.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
