Up to this point we have reveled in unstructured trip planning but these are not ordinary times and we are behaving in an out of the ordinary manner. We are making campsite reservations. With the exception of two one night mid-week stays, we have reservations for the first two and a half weeks of our upcoming ramble across North Carolina into Virginia. It’s a strange feeling. It’s somewhat reassuring and yet disconcerting. We love discovering adventures along the way but on the other hand, we are deliberately mixing it up with four night stays along with single night stays, some private campgrounds, national forest stays, state parks, and Harvest Host visits.
Fenton House and Spaniards Inn
A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
Definitely different times! I’m just glad you are back on the road again! Safe travels!
