After a leisurely time spent over coffee this morning we headed for the coast to see some of Lou's favorite spots. Bean Hollow Beach was enchanting. We can see why she would spend hours on end here! We got to see harbor seals on the rocks and walk amid amazing...

Cameron’s
On our way to today's adventures, we stopped for refreshments at Cameron's British Pub in the community of Half Moon Bay. What a fun place! Collections of everything British everywhere inside and out. It's also the site of our very first geocaching find!
Pearl Cafe
Pulled into Mountain View and parked the rig. Did a little shopping then walked across to Pearl Cafe, a coffee, tea, and Hawaiian BBQ place. We shared a New Mexican Salad and the Kalua Pork with vegetables. Wow! How can you make pork taste this incredible?

We're camping at a KOA on Monterey Bay between Monterey and Santa Cruz. Much cooler here. We changed into jeans and donned light jackets for the easy walk to Phil's Fish Market and Eatery for a lovely seafood dinner complemented with wonderful vegetables from the...
Nuts in the Desert
We've been driving past orchard after orchard out here in the desert. Apparently this area is big for almonds and pistachios. The irrigation method seems to be a hybrid of drip and ditch. Wondering how many of the nuts we've nibbled have come from here.
And an Oil Field
Just passed an oil field that stretched as far as eye could see on both sides of the road!
Wasco Roses
Who knew that 55% of the roses grown in the country are grown in the California community of Wasco?
The Power of Irrigation
East of Bakersfield it's desert but there's a lot of agriculture. The contrast is stark. Arid on one side of the road, lush and green on the other. And 95 degrees at 10:30 AM.
California Highway 58
Traveling between Barstow and Bakersfield it's hot, flat, dry, and forbidding with mountains in the distance. We drove through the town of Boron, the home of the largest borax mine in the world and the Kramer Junction Solar Generation Facility. We've passed Twenty...

Ameli@ Arrives at TimberCrest
Another rendezvous at TimberCrest and another T@B 400 & Red F-150 Combo! Amanda with Bert, her trusty tow vehicle, arrived towing Ameli@, her home on wheels, after a harrowing drive from Wytheville VA through snow flurries the whole way. Remember that Amanda is a...
Snow Day in TimberCrest
Fortunately we were forewarned by an Accuweather Wintercast alert to our phones, so we disconnected our hoses and protected our dump valves with RV antifreeze last night. Then we hunkered down inside our camper, checked the radar, and settled in for the night...
