Today we took delivery of the reclaimed antique heart of pine that will become the new flooring and stairs. More than a hundred years ago this wood was part of a textile mill. For now it is sitting in our library acclimating to the environment of our home. Also arriving and installed today were the screens for our sliding glass doors. Now we can let some of this beautiful Spring weather indoors.
Bath, England is an amazingly inviting place with deep deep history. One little day trip isn’t anywhere near enough but we did enjoy delving into the history of the Roman Baths, basking in the beauty of Bath Abbey, and topping our visit off with Tea and Bath Buns!
Today’s excursion to The Victoria & Albert Museum established in 1857 gave us a glimpse into the Victorian world and a chance to see some glorious originals and copies up close.
With Karen’s sister, niece, and her family we visited Stotfold England to walk in the footsteps of ancestors and to explore a lovingly restored historic water mill.
