Enjoying a quiet day in between. The last of our Christmas guests left today our New Years guests will not arrive until tomorrow. Dropped Greg off at Asheville airport just before noon. Now he is nearly home, on the “T”: in between Logan and Cambridge. On the way home we stopped at Earthguild and got some weaving equipment and knitting supplies. On the way home – in between Waynesville and Sylva – we saw the remnants of the snowman we built last Wednesday. Big Bob is now a small block of icy snow about 9 inches tall, a fraction of his original stature, evidence of our status: in between a beautiful snowfall and complete thaw.
Dakar, Senegal: A Wolof Village & The Pink Lake
Queen Mary 2’s arrival in the Port of Dakar, Senegal was heralded in the local press and greeted with ceremony. Our own excursion took us on a coach journey through the streets of the capital city to visit a Wolof village and the shore of Lake Retba, the salty lake famed for an intense pink color.
