We scored! Back in 2008 when we were here in The Redwoods we camped in a grove of redwoods in our little tent. We remembered that it was in one of the state parks along The Avenue of the Giants but we couldn’t remember which campground. Yesterday we visited three that, although nice, didn’t have the feel of the one we remembered. We ended up camping at Huckleberry 31. Later we talked to a ranger who knew exactly which campsite we remembered – Burlington 14! But 14 is suitable only for tents. This morning we were at the kiosk in Burlington at 9AM registering for Site 25. It was still occupied at the time but by the time we came back we were able to back our T@B into this site nestled among these incredibly tall redwoods!

National Portrait Gallery

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
