It’s s glorious drive through incredibly green countryside. Yes, it looks like the scenes from The Quiet Man which was filmed in this area. We stopped at Maam Cross at Peacockes Hotel where we admired the view from the top of the observation tower and could see evidence of peat harvesting, patronized the gift shop, and got some take away coffees then drove on stopping often to drink in the beauty!
Bath, England is an amazingly inviting place with deep deep history. One little day trip isn’t anywhere near enough but we did enjoy delving into the history of the Roman Baths, basking in the beauty of Bath Abbey, and topping our visit off with Tea and Bath Buns!
Today’s excursion to The Victoria & Albert Museum established in 1857 gave us a glimpse into the Victorian world and a chance to see some glorious originals and copies up close.
With Karen’s sister, niece, and her family we visited Stotfold England to walk in the footsteps of ancestors and to explore a lovingly restored historic water mill.
