It would have been an awesome campsite at a cooler time of the year. As Harvest Hosts members, we were granted permission to stay overnight last night at the Strataca Salt Mine Museum in Hutchinson, Kansas within sight of mining equipment and rail cars. Just a parking lot. No amenities. And on a hot July night in Kansas, we’ll let’s just say that without air conditioning, it was memorable, somewhat reminiscent of our childhood summer nights in Florida before our homes were climate controlled!

Cape Town: African Wildlife Adventures

With a UNESCO World Heritage Site, two national parks, dozens of museums, and hundreds of tours offered in the Cape Town area there is more than plenty to do. For our two day visit we opted to concentrate on African wildlife visiting the Aquila Private Game Reserve and the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony for a wonderful chance to these fabulous animals in their own habitat.
