It was a short but rewarding visit to the ancient capital of the Roman Empire. We enjoyed walking the narrow streets, savoring the sights and tastes of this timeless city, and especially getting close to thousands of years old monuments and even inside of the world famous Roman Colosseum.

Weather conditions caused Allure of the Seas to miss the port that would have given us the chance to visit Pisa. Instead we had the opportunity to spend an extra day aboard this floating resort in the port of Civitavecchia enjoying the ship and pondering what we’d learned this trip about our own travel style.
