CJ and friends returned from summer studies in Paris and London. Our long haired jeans & sneakers clad daughter left with a duffle and backpack five weeks ago. She returned a la Sabrina with a cute Paris haircut, slinky dress, kicky sandals, and fashionable bag. We hardly recognized her. Sounds like she felt quite at home in Paris. She has changed her mind about her dream job. It no longer involves the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan but rather art restoration at the Chateau de Chantilly! It’s good to have her home though.
Dakar, Senegal: A Wolof Village & The Pink Lake
Queen Mary 2’s arrival in the Port of Dakar, Senegal was heralded in the local press and greeted with ceremony. Our own excursion took us on a coach journey through the streets of the capital city to visit a Wolof village and the shore of Lake Retba, the salty lake famed for an intense pink color.
