Waco

Family

Saturday morning in Waco, Texas, we were privileged to witness the fine young men and women of Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and band march prior to the football game against Baylor. We met Karen’s sister and brother-in-law and her nephew, one of the corps members in downtown Waco. After the parade we lunched with the Lenz family and some of Brian’s fellow corps members before traveling to Bedford to enjoy the hospitality of Patti & Mark for a few days.

London’s Imperial War Museum in Southwark founded even as the First World War raged offers insights into the myriad costs of the wars of the 20th and 21st Centuries. It was a most disquieting but valuable reminder of the myriad costs of war.

London’s Canals

London’s Canals

The two of us have long been fascinated with the history of canals and their role in the history of transportation, industrialization, and more recently recreation.
