We left the DFW area this morning and headed north into Oklahoma. Tonight we are camped on the shores of Clayton Lake. Tomorrow we’ll venture onto the Talimena Scenic Byway into the Ouachita Mountains.
For our first adventure together on the Emerald Isle, we walked the streets of Cobh, County Cork, explored St Colman’s Cathedral, and visited the Cobh Heritage Center.
It was fifty years ago next month that the Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy. Today we had the distinct privilege of visiting some of the places important in that offensive which ultimately led the Allied victory in the Second World War.
Our brief stop in Portland Port in Dorset, England yielded just enough time to get a tiny taste of the historic town of Weymouth, a Cream Tea, and a desire to return.
