In Michigan State Parks the Campground Hosts often offer the opportunity to gather with other campers. This morning we met Dave & Sarah and their dogs, Finn & York at the Coffee gathering. This evening it was a campfire and S’Mores. As the sun lit up the sky over the water of the lake we toasted giant marshmallows and indulged in S’Mores. That’s after spending a most salubrious hour in the wooden chairs perched on the lakeshore across from our site.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
