After enjoying a marvelous day yesterday that included lots of conversation, excavations in the sandbox, supervision of the firewood splitting project, treehouse exploration, and a dinner of salad and gourmet pizza followed homemade Rosemary Shoofly Pie, the majority of the gathering departed this morning for a family celebration in Albany. That leaves four of us to savor a quiet day here on the lake on Cape Cod.
The Ruins of Pompeii

Archeological excavations since the 19th Century continue to reveal evidence of a thriving community.
