One of the delights of our two night stay at Lake Chelan State Park Site #31 has been our proximity to the lakeshore. It has beckoned us out for morning and evening walks. The park offers some wonderful lakeside tent sites with gorgeous views and nice privacy contrasted with the out in the open squished together full hookup sites on concrete pads. Ours was a water/electric site on a gravel pad with a bit of elbow room between us and our neighbors, a back-in site with woods behind us. We did arrive on Wednesday without reservations and had several sites to choose from as long as we planned to leave on Friday to make room for the weekend crowd!
Our walking tour through the historic heart of Stavanger gave us insight into the canning and maritime industries that fueled this community as well as some tasty tidbits.
Our short visit to Njardarheimr gave us insight into life in 11th Century Norway and educated us on the role of “Vikings” within the Norse community of the time.
