Our Little Window

Family

IMG_5465We made the trip from Tifton to Tween Creeks with minimal breaks. And, we drove through Atlanta! That’s something we rarely do. We hate that traffic, but since it was a Sunday morning we thought it a safe risk and it was fine. Spent a lot of time on the phone checking on things back in Florida but really enjoying the views of the mountains in the distance. It was so good to get home and check on how the garden has grown and to stand on the deck and enjoy the view though our little window of view framed by trees on either side. We had time to unpack and begin the repacking process before friends Lou and Peg returned from a festival at The Cradle of Forestry. It’s interesting and fun to be a guest in our own home. Lou and Peg are house sitting for us. They prepared dinner for us while we got the guest bedroom ready for our own use! Oh, But it is so good to sit on our deck, listen to the streams, and gaze across the valley through our little window through the trees!

National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
