Post – Thunderstorm Report

Road Trip

In the wee small hours of this morning a band of thunderstorms rolled through southwestern Ohio interrupting our sleep for about an hour and a half. Although according to the Weather app the worst of it hit west of us, we still heard lots of thunder boomers and heavy rain on the roof. Only “damage” was that one stake pulled out leaving part of the awning flapping in the breeze. Steve went out into the storm to secure the line to a nearby tree then reset the stake this morning. All in all we weathered the storm quite well.

Very glad to know your preparations paid off. I hear stories of people not so fortunate. I will need to set-up my little tent in backyard for the next severe storm to see how it fares.

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
