2022 North & North Again, Michigan, Road Trip, States

Today we crossed Michigan’s Mackinac Bridge, known as the Mighty Mack. We love this iconic bridge and always delight not only in the incredible engineering required to span the Straits of Mackinac but the amazing views of Lake Huron to the east and Lake Michigan to the west. Just beyond the bridge we turned west to hug the shore of Lake Michigan for a while then north to the southern shore of Superior. We’re now encamped at the Munising Tourist Park Campground. We enjoyed hobnobbing with a newish T@B 400 owner before heading out to the lakeshore at sunset. This is a place for lingering but we’re currently on the move. That said, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is a place we love coming back to again and again.

We are glad you are again posting to your blog. Sometimes I read them backwards…like I read your second post because it was “above” this one. We love Mackinac Island. We rode a bike the 8.2 miles around the perimeter. Gorgeous!

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
