This morning’s adventure was just spending time poking around northern Delaware. We started with snagging a few geocaches near the campsite in Lums State Park. Then we realized there wad a long line of caches along the edge of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. We parked near downtown St Georges and hiked the bike path snagging another ten caches and enjoying the walk on a beautiful morning. We strolled under some big bridges, spotted some folks enjoying a sail on the tall ship, the Mystic Whaler, and stopped frequently to locate a cache and sign the log. By the time we were finished we were hungry and thirsty so we stopped by the St Georges Country Store and Cajun Food Restaurant and sated ourselves with a salad, a shrimp po-boy and iced tea. Now to wend our way into New Jersey…
It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.
It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.
A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
