As we were headed toward Linville Falls along the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC we saw a Cirrus truck camper traveling in the other direction. When returned to the campground we drove around hoping to see it. Sure enough, it was parked on the other side of the circle. Ultimately we spent a few hours last evening and again this morning with Andrea and Doug swapping camping stories, savoring campfire treats, and comparing notes on the features of our respective nüCamp models. This is their first trip out with their brand new Cirrus 920 so we shared a few tips and tricks on using some of the state of the art equipment that comes standard in this sweet camper. We really enjoyed welcoming our new friends into the nüCamp family as well as seeing a Cirrus in use out in a campground, we’d previously had only been in them on the factory floor. We have to say, they have a fine camper!
It was an incredible experience to actually walk the streets of Pompeii, once a bustling resort town in the Roman Empire until 79 AD when an apocalyptic explosion buried it under 20 feet of volcanic ash. Archeological excavations since the 19th Century continue to reveal evidence of a thriving community.
Once the largest cruise ship in the world, Allure of the Seas will be our home for the next seven nights as we cruise the Western Mediterranean and explore the eighteen decks of this behemoth.
Our recent travel misadventures seriously curtailed our time in Rome pre-cruise but we did get to visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel before making the trip to Civitavecchi for an overnight in the port city of Rome preparatory to departing on Allure of the Seas tomorrow.
